Travel to Romania Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport (ex-OTOPENI) (http://www.otp-airport.ro/), located at about 450 km far from Iasi, is connected by direct flights with the most of the important cities in Europe. The important international airlines (AIR FRANCE, LUFTHANSA, KLM, AUSTRIAN AIRLINES, BRITISH AIRWAYS, ALITALIA etc.) operate at least 3 flights per day to Bucharest. Romanian Airline Company - TAROM (http://www.tarom.ro) operates also direct flights all over Europe, some of them in Code-Sharing system. There is also a low cost company called Blue Air (http://www.blueairweb.com/) which operates flights to/from Bucharest Baneasa Airport (located at about 10-15 min by bus and taxi from Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport) from/to Lyon, Dusseldorf, Milan, Rome, Barcelona and Istanbul. The summer schedule is enclosed below.
Travel to Iasi By plane There is a daily flight from Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport to Iasi departing Bucharest at 20:45 and arriving in Iasi at 21:50. The return flight is daily at 6:45 AM from Iasi arriving in Bucharest at 7:50. The return ticket is about 120 Euros (http://www.tarom.ro), but it might be cheaper if the ticket is booked well in advance through a travel agent. Additionally, there are other flights from most of the European airports to Iasi through Timisoara or Cluj airports (located in the West of Romania) as given on the Expedia website (http://www.expedia.com). The prices given on Expedia website are quite high, but probably the real prices offered by travel agents are much cheaper. The flights between Timisoara and Iasi are operated by CarpatAir (http://www.carpatair.ro), which is also operating direct flight from Iasi to a bunch of airports in Europe. The airport in Iasi is located at about 10-15 minutes by taxi from the city center, and the price for a trip is about 10 EUR. By train There are a few IC and rapid trains from Bucharest to Iasi and return every day (http://www.cfr.ro).
